November 12, 2021 – November 25, 2021 Project Update

November 26, 2021

Dear Kundalini Yoga and Sikh Dharma Communities,

We are happy to provide this biweekly update on the Compassionate Reconciliation Project.

Compassionate Reconciliation Commission (CRC) Update

Some of you might be aware that the CRC is developing its decision-making structure based on a consensus model, which some have called “a journey and a destination” (Arietta and Wallace, 2000). As a process, consensus is a means by which groups can productively resolve issues, make choices or develop strategies. As an outcome, consensus represents a resolution—a decision that satisfies all participants.  Consensus is not about getting everyone to think the same way, rather, it provides an opportunity to hear many voices and collectively learn what is a good way forward for the whole.  As the work of the CRC gets underway, we are already seeing many indications of how well suited the CRC is toward this kind of deliberation and thoughtful decision-making, based on the spirit of curiosity and creativity demonstrated by its members.

Below are some resources shared with the CRC on the topic of Consensus-based decision making, listed here for your reference as well.
